My Story
My story is one that started in the suburbs of Buffalo in a small trailer park home where I dreamed of traveling to far off places. I made it a goal to study abroad during my undergraduate degree to explore the diverse communities and languages across the Atlantic ocean. I loved my experience in Spain and gained so many skills and lifetime memories that I cannot wait to share with my students through learning and getting to know my students
during the school year:)I thought my dream was to work with hispanic communties through social services but I have found that my social work and spanish background paireed with my enthusiatic personality fits perfectly with educating early childhood students. Teaching brings me so much joy, beautiful memories, and fulfills my longing to keep learning!
What Brings Me Joy
Other than teaching the primary grades, I love exploring and learning new things about different cultures and the arts. I also love reading and writing so much so that you might see me with a new book each week;)
What I'm Good At
I am really good at finding the silver lining when life seems too difficult or bleak to accomplish ones goals or to make it through the day. Whether its doing some self care or just spreading kind words, you will always see me empathsizing, comforting, or encouraging myself or someone in need.
What the World Needs
I think the world needs more people to be authentic and appreciative of each others differences and talents. Everyone has something that can be attributed to the systems in which we live in and its our job to value them and utilize them to make the world a better place:)
Why Commons?
First off all, love the Buffalo Commons Charter school logo! I have been a Buffalo Bills fan since I was an infant so to be associated with a school mascot that is a Buffalo, is exciting! I also choose commons because of the philosophy of in-depth learning commons embodies in the structure of the school schedule and unique curriculum. I strongly believe we should be educating our students to have lifetime skills and knowledge to build upon their talents and grow in their potential and confidence. I also love the kindness I have already seen through the loving greetings of the administrative staff and the teaching staff I will have the privilege of working with!
