I love Commons' values of creating good all around students and their dedication to helping students find their purpose.

My Story
I was born and raised in Delaware where I have a large family. After completing college in Maryland, I moved to Texas to start my teaching career. My life has been built around family and friends. I believe the people you surround yourself with matter. With this being said, I was always around children and naturally would enter the role of leading them or helping them. From babysitting family and friends, to working in childcare, to now teaching, trying to change children's lives for the better has been a big part of my life from a young age.
What Brings Me Joy
There are quite a few things in life that bring me joy from family and friends, to my dog, to a good cup of coffee, but most importantly seeing people grow and learn is what brings me the most joy. Helping people around me learn new things and find new passions is something I cherish deeply. I love to help people in any way I can.
What I'm Good At
I would say I am good at finding positives in all situations. Feelings are meant to be felt and some situations challenge that but there is always a lesson or positive to be found in a situation. It may be difficult to find at first but there is no reason to dwell on a tough situation or the past when there is so much to look forward to and change in a situation.
What the World Needs
I would say the world needs to slow down. In today's society people are always in a hurry and rushing around. If we could all slow down and find some patience, it would be a better place. There would be happier and friendlier interactions across the world leading to more growth in a lot of ways.
Why Commons?
I loved the diversity that is present at Commons. The values of creating good all around students who are working to find their purpose is something that I resinate with deeply. Finding your purpose in life can feel daunting but students should understand it is not an overnight decision and for some people it takes a while, which is okay. Leading them to understanding they can do wonderful things in life is an amazing experience for both student and teacher. This is something that I can see as a big part of Commons and something I look forward to adding to.
