My Story

Born and raised in central MA, I was a kid on the go. I was always exploring, learning, creating, and experiencing all that life had to offer. With what I learned, I knew that I wanted to show people the world. I was a teacher for many years; I love school! I've been living in NY for the last 10 years and it is my home. I feel so lucky to be in Buffalo with my 2 children, our sweet pup and 2 kitties.

What Brings Me Joy

I have an abundance of joy for so many things! You will find me around Buffalo looking for, what I refer to as, my next food experience. I love food. There is so much we can learn about one another, different cultures, beliefs, you name it, when we share a meal. Music makes me feel alive. So, I'll be humming or singing to myself, listening and learning about all sorts of music, and definitely out at local shows. My chosen friends/family are joy. My kids exude joy and so you cannot help but feel happy around them. It brings me joy to be close to the water and see all the beautiful nature that surrounds us.

What I'm Good At

I am a good listener and observer. People feel safe with me and feel like they can be their authentic self without any judgement. I am very good at problem solving and coming up with creative ideas. I always consider where folks are coming from and recognize my own privilege in this world.

What the World Needs

Safety. When we feel safe (emotional, physical, spiritual, all of the ways), we flourish. I want every child, adult, elder and everyone in between to flourish and feel supported in their communities and beyond!

Why Commons?

Buffalo Commons is the school I wish I had gone to as a kid. Commons meets students where they are encouraging growth and self discovery in ways that prepare them for the world. Every child has unique, wonderful skills and strengths that they get to explore in a supportive environment.
